This page lists the ways you can pay for an order with Gulf Coast Upholstery & Alterations, how those payments are handled, and what to do if a payment does not go through. Every method below is available at checkout to customers with a valid U.S. billing address.

Debit and credit cards are listed separately because they are treated differently by your bank: a debit payment leaves your account at once, while a credit payment appears on your statement at the end of the billing cycle.

How Payments Are Processed

All payments, including card payments, are processed through the PayPal payment gateway, which is certified to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). You do not need a PayPal account to pay by card. At checkout, choose the option to pay by debit or credit card and enter your details as a guest — the transaction is handled by PayPal’s secure gateway and does not create an account for you.

Payment Security

We never see, handle or store your full card number, expiry date or security code. Those details are entered directly into the gateway and stay with the payment processor. Our website runs over an encrypted SSL connection, and what reaches us is limited to the confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the name and address needed to ship the order.

When You Are Charged

The full amount is authorized and taken at checkout, at the point the order is placed. We do not take deposits, part-payments, instalments or payment on delivery, and we do not hold card details on file for future orders. If a payment does not complete, no order is created.

Currency

All prices on this website are shown and charged in U.S. dollars (USD). If you pay with a card issued outside the United States, your bank may convert the amount and apply a foreign transaction fee. Those fees are set by your card issuer, not by us, and they are not shown at our checkout.

Sales Tax

Sales tax is calculated at checkout where applicable, based on the delivery address and the rates in force at the time of the order. Any tax due is displayed as a separate line before you confirm payment.

Failed or Declined Payments

A payment can be declined for reasons we have no visibility of. The most common are an expired card, insufficient funds, a billing address that does not match the one held by the bank, a daily spending limit, or a fraud check triggered by an unfamiliar merchant.

If a payment is declined, check the card details and billing address and try again, or use a different method. Please do not place the order repeatedly — each attempt can leave a pending authorization on your account. Those authorizations are not charges and are released by your bank, usually within a few business days. If you are unsure whether money has actually been taken, contact us before ordering again.
